JIA Hydrotherapy Program 4pm (Primary School) Shenton Park

Event Dates: 10 February – 30 March, no class 2 March (7 weeks)

(Registration opens 9am Wednesday 8 January, and closes 12 noon Wednesday 29 January)

This program encourages range of motion, strength and fitness, with less stress on the joints, and is suitable for primary school-aged children with JIA who are competent swimmers.

Benefits include increased muscle strength, improved joint range of movement, improved coordination, balance and agility. Water exercise has been proven to enhance wellbeing.

This JIA Hydrotherapy Program is available to primary school-aged children who are competent swimmers and are able to enter and exit the pool unaided.

This program is led by a physiotherapist experienced in working with children and teenagers with JIA.

*Please bring a water bottle with you.

Cost: $50

PLEASE NOTE: To successfully complete registration, you must either:

  • answer ‘No’ to all 6 questions (numbered 1 – 6) OR
  • you MUST gain clearance from your GP/medical specialist PRIOR to participation in exercise if you have answered ‘Yes’ to one or more of the questions numbered 1 – 6.
