SUMMARY:Hydro For Kids - Mondays 4pm (Primary School) Shenton Park
DESCRIPTION:Term 4: Mon 12 October – Sun 13 December 2026 (9 weeks)\nHydro For Kids classes will run from 19 Oct to 7 Dec. Registration fee is for 8 weeks.\nClass Details:\nThe Hydro For Kids / Teens Program is a specialised class designed for primary and secondary school-aged children with chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA)\, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome\, chronic back pain\, or hypermobility. The program is suitable for children who are competent swimmers and able to enter and exit the pool independently. Sessions are led by a physiotherapist experienced in supporting young people with these conditions. \nResearch shows that hydrotherapy offers significant benefits for children with musculoskeletal conditions by reducing joint stress while allowing safe\, effective exercise in a buoyant environment. Regular participation helps improve muscle strength\, joint range of motion\, coordination\, balance\, and agility\, while also supporting overall physical function and participation in daily activities. The warm water environment further assists in easing pain and stiffness\, helping children move more freely and comfortably.  \nThe program format includes a variety of water-based strengthening\, mobility\, and coordination exercises tailored to each child’s needs and abilities. Delivered in a supportive and encouraging group environment\, the program also provides opportunities for social interaction and confidence-building among peers with similar experiences. Children should bring a water bottle to each session. \nNote: Classes on Mondays at 4pm is for primary-school aged children.
