Event Description

Osteoarthritis of the Knee
The OA Knee (OAK) Program is specifically for people diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. It offers a holistic approach providing disease specific education and self-management techniques and is run by health professionals.

Event Information

The OAK Program consists of 6 weekly, 2.5 hour sessions, conducted in a friendly and supportive group atmosphere. Each week different topics will be covered and includes group discussion. Participants are encouraged to attend all 6 weeks to gain most benefit from the program.

Topics include:

  • What is osteoarthritis?
  • How to exercise correctly
  • Pain management strategies
  • Medications and their side effects
  • Nutrition and healthy eating
  • Emotions and arthritis
  • Fatigue, relaxation techniques and much more…
