SUMMARY:Aqua Fitness (Fast Pace) Shenton Park - Tuesdays 6:00pm
DESCRIPTION:12-Week Hydro Block: Mon 21 September – Fri 11 December 2026\nClass Description:\nAqua Fitness is a moderate-intensity class designed to improve strength\, endurance\, and functional movement through faster-paced water-based exercise. SUMMARY:Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) Exercise Class (LAND & HYDRO) - Mondays 5:15pm
DESCRIPTION:12-Week Hydro Block: Mon 21 September – Fri 11 December 2026\nNo class on 28 Sept due to public holiday. Registration fee is for 11 weeks.\nClass Details:\nThe Ankylosing Spondylitis Class is a hybrid program combining both land-based and hydrotherapy exercise\, designed specifically for people diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). Each session includes 45 minutes of land exercise with a focus on mobility and back strength\, followed by 45 minutes of hydrotherapy to support joint movement\, flexibility\, and pain relief. Sessions are led by a qualified fitness instructor experienced in working with people with musculoskeletal conditions.  \nResearch shows that regular exercise is one of the most effective non-pharmacological treatments for AS. Land-based exercise helps maintain spinal mobility\, improve posture\, and build muscle strength to support affected joints. Hydrotherapy complements this by reducing joint stress\, easing stiffness\, and allowing freer movement in a supportive warm-water environment. Together\, these approaches help reduce pain\, improve function\, and enhance overall wellbeing.  \nThe class format provides a balanced approach by combining targeted strengthening and mobility training with the benefits of water-based movement. Participants can safely work at their own pace while improving flexibility\, core and back strength\, balance\, and cardiovascular fitness in an interactive group environment.  \nRegistration Details:\n\nLand Session: 5:15pm – 6:00pm\nHydro Session: 6:05pm – 6:50pm\nThis registration entitles you to attend 1 AS exercise class per week for 12 consecutive weeks (with the exception of this class occurring on a public holiday).\nYou may only attend the day and time allocated for this class. If you wish to attend more than one class per week\, you will need to register for additional classes throughout the week.\n\nVenue: Seminar Room/Hydrotherapy Pool\, Wyllie Arthritis Centre\, 17 Lemnos Street\, Shenton Park.\nCost: See ticket details below. $10 discount applies for online bookings only.
