The Joint Movement Program
MOVE BETTER, FEEL BETTER
The Joint Movement® program
The Joint Movement® is a group-based exercise program designed for people with arthritis and other chronic musculoskeletal conditions who are aged 65 years and over.
The program is led by experienced and trained exercise professionals so you can be confident that you are exercising safely, correctly and for maximum benefit.
The 12-week program is available as a warm water or online home-based program and is suitable for people of all levels of fitness, including beginners. The program includes one pre-exercise assessment, 10 weeks of classes (1 class per week), and one post-exercise assessment. All participants will receive a report of their progress.
THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR…..
- Prescribed exercise has been shown to be as effective as NSAIDs and analgesics in reducing pain with relatively few side-effects
- Exercise increases flexibility, strength, fitness, coordination, movement and balance
- Exercise enhances overall health, boosts your mood and improves feelings of wellbeing
GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
WARM WATER CLASSES
Warm water exercise is an excellent way for people with arthritis to improve fitness, build strength, ease stiff joints and relax sore muscles. The buoyancy of the water takes the weight off painful joints, and the heated pool helps to soothe muscles and joints, keeping you warm as you exercise.
