SUMMARY:Tai Chi for Arthritis & Osteoporosis (All Levels) - Wednesdays 8:30am Mundaring
DESCRIPTION:Term 3: Mon 20th July – Sun 27th September 2026 (10 weeks)\nClass Details:\n\nThe Tai Chi for Arthritis Program was developed in 1997 by Dr Paul Lam in collaboration with Tai Chi and medical experts. It is specifically designed for people with arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions\, using gentle\, flowing movements to improve strength\, mobility\, and overall wellbeing. Classes are delivered in a relaxed and social setting\, making them both enjoyable and accessible to people of all fitness levels.  \nResearch shows that Tai Chi helps build muscular strength to support and protect the joints\, increases flexibility and mobility to reduce stiffness and pain\, and improves balance by focusing on safe weight transference. These benefits reduce the risk of falls and support greater independence. Regular practice has also been linked to improved cardiorespiratory fitness\, enhancing the healthy functioning of the heart and lungs.  \nThe program combines movement with breathing and relaxation techniques\, helping participants relieve pain\, manage stress\, and improve posture. By bringing together physical\, mental\, and social benefits\, Tai Chi for Arthritis supports participants to feel stronger\, calmer\, and more confident in their everyday lives. \nVenue: Harmony Hall\, Cafe Mojo Community Centre\, 16 Craig St\, Mundaring\nCost: Please see ticket details below to view term class fees.\nClass Times: You may only attend the day and time allocated for this class (once per week) \n*Please wear loose\, comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes\, and bring a water bottle. \nMeet the Trainer:\nTeresa Stokes is a senior trainer and certified instructor with Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute. Teresa Stokes has been practising Tai Chi for 16 years and has shared her practice with Arthritis and Osteoporosis WA for the past 10 years.
