Hydro For Kids – Mondays 4pm (Primary School) Shenton Park

Term 2: Mon 20th April – Sun 5th July 2026 (11 weeks)

Hydro For Kids classes will commence Mon 4 May. No class on the 1 Jun. Registration fee is for 8 weeks.
Class Details:

The Hydro For Kids / Teens Program is a specialised class designed for primary and secondary school-aged children with chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, chronic back pain, or hypermobility. The program is suitable for children who are competent swimmers and able to enter and exit the pool independently. Sessions are led by a physiotherapist experienced in supporting young people with these conditions.

Research shows that hydrotherapy offers significant benefits for children with musculoskeletal conditions by reducing joint stress while allowing safe, effective exercise in a buoyant environment. Regular participation helps improve muscle strength, joint range of motion, coordination, balance, and agility, while also supporting overall physical function and participation in daily activities. The warm water environment further assists in easing pain and stiffness, helping children move more freely and comfortably.

The program format includes a variety of water-based strengthening, mobility, and coordination exercises tailored to each child’s needs and abilities. Delivered in a supportive and encouraging group environment, the program also provides opportunities for social interaction and confidence-building among peers with similar experiences. Children should bring a water bottle to each session.

Note: Classes on Mondays at 4pm is for primary-school aged children. To register for the Hydro For Teens Program for secondary-school aged children on Mondays at 4:50pm, click here.
