Registration opens 9am on Monday 12 June.  In this gentle yoga class led by Karen Green, yoga therapist, participants will move through a series of movements to help improve joint health, flexibility and balance. Some of the movements are performed on a mat on the floor and participants will need to be able to get onto the ground. 

24th Jul 2017 NEW JIA Hydrotherapy Program

Registration opens at 9am Monday 12 June. Aquatic exercise encourages range of motion, strength and fitness, with less stress on joints and is a beneficial form of exercise for children and teenagers with JIA.  Classes are suitable for beginners and experienced participants; participants must be competent swimmers.

26th Jul 2017 Arthritis Exercise - Wednesday 8.30am @ AOWA

Registration opens 9am Monday 12 June.  This is an exercise program suitable for people with any form of diagnosed arthritis, including Ankylosing Spondylitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis.  Classes are led by Physiotherapist Kathryn Pickering.

26th Jul 2017 Yoga for Arthritis Beginners Course - Wednesday 11am @ AOWA

Registration opens 9am on Monday 12 June.The 8 week Yoga for Arthritis Course taught by Jane Leslie, physiotherapist, is based on a protocol developed by an interdisciplanary research team at John Hopkins University Arthritis Centre, Baltimore. Jane trained with the Yoga for Arthritis team in Baltimore in 2014 and also brings to these classes a background in physiotherapy and experience teaching yoga and pilates to AOFWA clients.

  • This program is specifically for people with diagnosed Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). It offers a holistic approach providing disease specific education and self-management techniques and is run by health professionals.
2nd Aug 2017 Rheumatoid/Psoriatic Arthritis Education & Self-Management Program WILLETTON

This 6 week program is specifically for people with diagnosed rheumatoid or psoriatic  arthritis. It offers a holistic approach providing disease specific education and self-management techniques and is run by health professionals.

4th Aug 2017 OA Knee Education & Self-Management Program SHENTON PARK

Osteoarthritis of the Knee
The OA Knee (OAK) Program is specifically for people diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. It offers a holistic approach providing disease specific education and self-management techniques and is run by health professionals.

7th Aug 2017 NEW Mindful Movement Chair Based Exercise - Monday 2.30pm @ AOWA

Registration opens 9am on Monday 12 June.  A gentle exercise program designed to improve flexibility, strength and balance with a focus on increasing body awareness through the use of meditation and breathing techniques.   

8th Aug 2017 OA Knee Education & Self-Management Program WANNEROO
