A support group for those who have an Inflammatory Arthritis. Meets in Shenton Park on the 1st Tuesday of the month from 10:30am til 12noon. Come along to meet others in a similiar situation.

If you have been diagnosed with lupus and would like to meet other people living with the same condition, then come along to our support group where you can get connected and find help.

7th Apr 2017 Coffee with Auto-Immune Arthritis Dongara (CAAD)

Do you have an auto-immune arthritis? Would you like to catch up with others that do?  Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA provides a social group in Dongara for anyone with Auto-Immune Arthritis, e.g. Rheumatoid, Psoriatic, Lupus or Scleroderma. 

12th Apr 2017 NEW Halls Head Inflammatory Arthritis Support Group

A NEW support group for those who have an Inflammatory Arthritis (Rheumatoid, Psoriatic or Ankylosing Spondylitis). 1st meeting will be Wednesday April 12th at the Dome Cafe in Halls Head from 10:00am til 12noon. Monthly meetings will then be on the 1st Wednesday of the month. 

18th Apr 2017 Mandurah Scleroderma Support Group

sclerodermaA support group for those who have Scleroderma. Meets bimonthly on the 3rd Tuesday in Mandurah from 10am til 12noon. Come along to meet and share with others who have a similiar condition.

Tai Chi for ArthritisRegistration opens 9am Monday 13 March.  The movements of the Tai Chi for Arthritis program have been specifically designed to be safe for people with arthritis.  The slow movements prevent injury, but build muscle strength and calm the mind.

Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA is seeking Expressions of Interest from multi-discipline health professionals in metropolitan and regional WA who wish to attend a 3 day Facilitator Training Workshop for the delivery of our Disease Specific Education & Self-Management Program for Rheumatoid/Psoriatic Arthritis (RA-P).

30th Apr 2017 Tai Chi Sun 73 - Sunday 11am @ AOWA

Registration opens 9am Monday 13 March.  The Sun 73 Form is a gentle and enjoyable exercise program which is open to those who are familiar with the TCA beginners and advanced sets. The slow graceful movements help to build muscle strength, improve balance and flexibility and calm the mind.

Registration opens 9am on Monday 13 March.  A gentle exercise program designed to improve flexibility, strength and balance with a focus on increasing body awareness through the use of meditation and breathing techniques.

Registration opens 9am on Monday 13 March.  In this gentle yoga class led by Karen Green, yoga therapist, participants will move through a series of movements to help improve joint health, flexibility and balance. Some of the movements are performed on a mat on the floor and participants will need to be able to get onto the ground.

Registration opens 9am Monday 13 March.  This is an exercise program suitable for people with any form of diagnosed arthritis, including Ankylosing Spondylitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis.  Classes are led by Physiotherapist Kathryn Pickering.

3rd May 2017 Yoga for Arthritis Beginners Course - Wednesday 11am @ AOWA

Registration opens 9am on Monday 13 March.The 8 week Yoga for Arthritis Course taught by Jane Leslie, physiotherapist, is based on a protocol developed by an interdisciplanary research team at John Hopkins University Arthritis Centre, Baltimore. Jane trained with the Yoga for Arthritis team in Baltimore in 2014 and also brings to these classes a background in physiotherapy and experience teaching yoga and pilates to AOFWA clients.

  • This program is specifically for people with diagnosed Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). It offers a holistic approach providing disease specific education and self-management techniques and is run by health professionals.

Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Program

The most important link between your diet and arthritis is certainly your weight.  We know that being overweight puts extra strain on your joints, especially weight bearing joints – your back, knees, hips, feet and ankles.   

Arthritis WA will be hosting a FREE 6 week Healthy Eating and Weight Management Course run by the Outreach Team from Juniper for people with arthritis, aged 60 years or more and who are overweight.
