OAK - Osteoarthritis of the knee
This Health Professional run program is specifically for people who have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. You will learn how to manage your condition more effectively. Topics include information about osteoarthritis; how to exercise correctly; pain management strategies; medications and side effects; nutrition and healthy eating; emotions and arthritis; fatigue, relaxation techniques.
Inflammatory/Rheumatoid Arthritis (IA/RA)
This Health Professional run program is specifically for people with rheumatoid, psoriatic, seronegative rheumatoid or palindromic arthritis. A holistic approach providing disease specific education and self management techniques. Topics include learning about yoru disease; overview of medications and blood tests; causes and management of fatigue; pain management techniques; activity and exercise; nutrition and healthy eating; joint protection techniques.
Ankylosing Spondylitis
This Health Professional run program is a newly developed education and self management research program designed specifically for people with Ankylosing Spondylitis, which aims to educate individuals about their disease and provide up- to-date information on the best ways to manage it. Topics include overview of AS; review of medications and medical tests; coping with pain and fatigue; essential stretches and exercises; diet and nutrition; emotional wellbeing.
Challenge Your Arthritis
A course to help people cope with the pain and day to day problems caused by arthritis and fibromyalgia delivered by specially trained people who have arthritis and who understand. Topics covered include: pain management; protecting your joints; diet & arthritis; keeping mobile; coping with fatigue; relaxation; and more.
Challenging Pain
A short course especially suitable for people who suffer pain from general osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia. Understanding your pain is the first step to learning the skills and techniques you need to help regain control of your life.
