Tai Chi for Arthritis & Osteoporosis (Beginner Level 2) – Sunday 11:00am Shenton Park

April 21 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$130.00

Term 2: Mon 15 April – Sun 30 June (11 weeks)

No class 2nd June. Registration is for 10 weeks.

Class Details:

The Tai Chi for Arthritis program was created in 1997 by Dr Paul Lam and a team of Tai Chi and medical experts. Tai Chi is designed to improve:

  • Muscular strength to support and protect the joints
  • Flexibility and mobility to reduce pain and stiffness

The focus on weight transference improves balance, which reduces falls, and the movements increase fitness, which promotes the proper functioning of the heart and lungs. The program helps to relieve pain, reduce stress, and increase relaxation.

This beginner-level course builds on and refines the movements learned previously to start putting movements and sequences together. With a focus on mindfulness, participants will improve and grow their skills, learning to move muscles slowly and continuously. Participants will ideally have had some exposure to Tai Chi in the past, but this is not a prerequisite.

Venue:
Seminar Room, Wyllie Arthritis Centre, 17 Lemnos Street, Shenton Park.
Cost: Please see ticket details below to view term class fees.
Class Times: You may only attend the day and time allocated for this class (once per week)

*Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes and bring a water bottle.
